Applications are invited from the citizens of India for filling up the following temporary positions for the sponsored project undertaken in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering of this Institute. The positions are temporary initially for a period of  1 Year  and tenable only for the duration of the project. The requisite qualification & experience etc. are given below:

Project Code, Project Title & Funding Agency 16MNRE003 :"IMPLEMENTATION OF 70 LAKH SOLAR STUDY LAMPS IN THE STATES OF ASSAM, BIHAR, JHARKHAND, UTTAR PRADESH AND ODISHA (THROUGH EESL & IIT BOMBAY)" (Ministry of New And Renewable Energy) About the project: The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India has sanctioned a scheme to disseminate 7 million solar study lamps to school children in the states of Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh. The project objectives are: (a) providing clean light for study purpose to rural school-going children through solar study lamp (b) localization of solar energy through skill and knowledge transfer to local people and creating livelihoods through their involvement in assembly, distribution and repair-maintenance of solar study lamps. IIT Bombay is the central coordinating agency for this project, which will be executing by collaborating with multiple partners (NGOs, Livelihood Missions, Education Institutions, etc). To meet the objectives, the project envisions to build capacity of the local communities across the intervention states, setup and manage local assembly and distributions centers where the lamps will be made, and subsequently provide after-sales service through further localized service centers. Experience in designing and quering mysql data base 2. Experience in web designing using html, css 3. Experience in mysql database and linux operating system 4. Experience in programming language such as php, java, javascript/google script. 5. Knowledge in R/python, GIS & data visualization methods. Job Profile 1.Maintain project website Software development & other technical support 2.Maintain mysql database and maintain backup data 3.Create/standardize & maintain project MSIS website (developed in PHP) used for entering data 4.Create Google spreadsheet/tools for operation management according to requirements, also write formula/script if required 5.Solve issues related to spreadsheet or other IT issues regarding project website 6.Create static maps and dynamic maps using google fusion table, related tools 7.Data visualization methods As well as 1.Manage information technology and computer systems 2.Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations 3.Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance 4.Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures. 5.Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time   Position & Salary Sr. Project Technical Assistant (2 Post s ) Consolidated salary Rs.30000 - 42000 (No seperate Out Of Campus Allowance) Qualification BE/BTech/MA/MSc/MCA/MBA or equivalent degree BA/BSc or equivalent degree with 2 years relevant experience Experience in web designing using html, css Experience in designing and querying mysql database and linux operating system Experience in programming language such as php, java, javascript/google script Knowledge in R/python, GIS & data visualization methods. The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project . The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
